While the true underground dance junkies are already well-aware of Carl Cox & Friends stage at Ultra, a two-weekend lineup such as this one cannot go unmentioned. First and foremost, Mr. Cox will be spinning on Friday AND Saturday during both Ultra weekends. Joining him is a star-studded lineup of tech and deep house legends, pioneers and newcomers. Loco Dice, having just come off the epic 17-hour set at Space Miami, Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin, Umek, John Digweed, Luciano, Yousef, and a handful more will all be gracing Bayfront Park with a bit of Balaeric goodness. Music festivals featuring DJs are no longer a rare sighting, it’s a weekly occurrence. Only a select few remain as acclaimed as Ultra Music Festival which takes place among a warm weekend in late March. The setting? Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, making this more of a destination than a pop-up event in a stadium parking lot. Ticket sales this year for the festival are expected to sell out in record speed, as they have done so every year in the event’s recent history.

Cedric Gervais must’ve known for quite some time the banger he had on his hands. A strong viral promo push at UMF and WMC 2012 gave the track tremendous buzz, leading to me listing it on my list of the 7 most highly anticipated tracks from the week. It was also featured on Pete Tong‘s BBC Radio 1 show as his Essential New Tune, and given a shout-out by Madonna whilst introducing Avicii’s set, all contributing to the hype for its release.

The track itself is a heavy affair, with marching snares and rolling bass-lines, and a computer voice asking if we’ve seen Molly. 80′s style synths lead into a climatic Pacha on Acid style drop. Hardwell has been on fire so far in 2012 with his release of Spaceman and his recent set at Ultra Music Festival. Foreign Affair (Instrumental “WMC” Mix) – Yolanda Be Cool (register & login to view link)

Yolanda Be Cool, AKA Australian’s Andrew Stanley and Johnson “Durango Slim” Peterson, have returned from a period of near-silence since their smash-hit We No Speak Americano took over the world two years ago. And my, have they returned in style. Foreign Affair, at this stage, is an instrumental track, and the band have hinted that a well known vocalist will be assisting on the track soon. But for now, they have released the instrumental track for free. Featuring their well known sound of playful house, vocal samples and jilty, jumpy melodies, Foreign Affair sets the tone perfectly for Miami Music Week and UMF, with a perfect salsa sample dropping into some very funky, summer-feeling EDM.
