Las Vegas hotel group Wynn has locked 34 electronic dance artists into exclusive residencies for 2012- some of them established live acts that usually play concert venues far larger than Wynn’s four day/nightclubs (Encore Beach Club, Surrender, Tryst and XS).

Swedish House Mafia, the House music that has been redefining the genre has dropped their newest track Greyhound. Clearly a move back to their roots, this track brings in some very serious elements of well orchestrated synths, and bassy drops. The long-awaited Cosmic Opera in New York City opened its curtains for Act 1 on both February 23rd and 24th. The setting was the Hammerstein Ballroom, which was adorned with a massive chandelier that was constructed for the event and the interior was laced in lit patterns thanks to 3D mapping. The show was orchestrated by Justin Cohen, the 25-year old creator and founder of Cosmic Opera.
Axwell of Swedish House Mafia was the main draw, headlining the act for both shows. The first performance on Thursday featured Deniz Koyu and No_ID, while Friday night’s show featured PeaceTreaty and Thomas Gold.

Pretty much everyone who had access to BBC Radio 1 on Friday night was tuned in to the legendary Pete Tong‘s dance show, that was subject to an invasion of Swedes, namely the takeover by the superstars of the Swedish House Mafia. Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso have been quiet on the production front since Antidote, touring heavily and playing shows all across the globe. Well, all that was about to change. The Swedes previewed a gang of new tracks, including new records from Alesso, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Third Party and the Swedish House Mafia themselves. Right of his latest release Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll a few days ago. Tommy Trash dropped his killer remix to Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party‘s massive track Antidote. Keeping in line with his usual heavy style, Tommy Trash past releases such as his remix to Alive and his own track The End, influences can be heard through out the remix.This heavy Electro track is as with Zedd best dropped with other Electro tracks of its style, preferably just before one with a little less kick.

The word “Electrify” encompasses several definitions, but the one you should take note of is “to excite greatly; thrill”, because DJ Phresh is doing just that on his latest mixes.
The mix-tape series entitled “Electrofied” is on its 4th installment and it certainly does not disappoint. Listeners will notice an intricate mix of both original cuts of some tracks as well as some rather unique remixes. Speaking upon the mix, DJ Phresh says, “It also highlights the big tunes from the electro and house parties I play in the city. It’s not necessarily locked into just electro only, but all types of electronic, heavy drum, high-energy music.”
