This past Saturday evening was another night of bumping beats at Santos Party House for Electric Beach. This time Size Matters, Tim Mason hit the decks for a night of big room anthems and mainstream crowd pleasers.
For those of you not familiar with Tim Mason is the British lad who scored a spot on the Size Matters label after Steve Angello heard his massive track, “The Moment.” The rest was history, as he found himself a home with the prestigious label and a gig to spin around the world.
Opening the set was George Garcia, who recently threw down in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. George set the tone for the packed room, which was at capacity well before Tim stepped up to the turntables. Taking in the evening was dGi Management’s David Berrie or dBerrie.
As for Tim’s set, he definitely catered to the crowd. Playing many … Read more

Nari & Milani – Atom (Original Mix) (register & login to view link)
Atom, the explosive track that many called the song of WMC 2012, has finally been released under Steve Angello’s Size Records. First premiered by Swedish House Mafia at their ground-breaking Madison Square Garden show in December. Since then, Maurizio Nari and Ronnie Milani, along with head honcho Angello, have been unclear as to the release date of this much sought-after track. When it finally emerged that it would be today, the 9th of April, some were unsure about it’s success, worrying it may suffer the same way Avicii’s Levels did. Pushed back for months upon months at a time, the initial buzz that it’s premiere at Madison Square Garden created may have worn off, some 4 months later. However, any doubt in people’s minds will be dispelled now, with blogs, Twitter and Facebook all blowing … Read more

I wanna do it like they’re doing it at the Wynn in Vegas. The music scene in Vegas is transforming nightlife in the so-called adult playground. Check out this exclusive article from our friends at Billboard.
Las Vegas hotel group Wynn has locked 34 electronic dance artists into exclusive residencies for 2012- some of them established live acts that usually play concert venues far larger than Wynn’s four day/nightclubs (Encore Beach Club, Surrender, Tryst and XS).
Deadmau5 and Skrillex at XS Nightclub Labor Day
While big acts like Tiësto and Deadmau5 were announced earlier this year, David Guetta, Skrillex, Diplo, and Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello are new to this announcement, due out later today. A complete list is below.
The move makes Wynn one of the most powerful bookers of DJ talent in the U.S., let alone Las Vegas, and gives them … Read more

Icarus (Extended Mix) – Madeon (register & login to view link)
Easily one of the most anticipated tracks of 2012, and probably late 2011 too, has finally been released. It’s taken me a while to get my hands on it, due to Beatport and iTunes being so temperamental, but here it is – Icarus by Madeon!
So, where to start? Well, this 17 year old (Yes, you read that correctly. Now go and re-evaluate your life) musical prodigy from France caught the attention of dance music head honchos such as Deadmau5 and Steve Angello, amongst many others, with his viral Pop Culture (register & login to view link) video on YouTube, and subsequent remix of Raise Your Weapon (register & login to view link), both of which showcased his immense producing, mashing and remixing capabilities. As if … Read more

Qulinez – Troll (Original Mix) (register & login to view link)
Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson, AKA Qulinez, are two young producers hailing from Varberg, Sweden, who have been making music together since 2006. Quickly catching the ear of Size Records label boss and 1/3 of super-group Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello was quickly impressed, and decided to sign Troll to his label. The duo have finally released their long awaited single on Size this week. With a scintillating combination of progressive house and electro, this record has been doing the rounds amongst the Mafia members for quite some time, featured in now legendary shows such as their sell-out gig at Madison Square Garden, last September, bringing anticipation for the song to boiling point. With absolutely infectious progressive melodies that could have been crafted by Alesso, and electro riffs that could have been put together by Zedd, these … Read more

No, ladies and gentlemen, you can enjoy it from the comfort of your sofa at home. Invite you friends over, tell your girlfriend/boyfriend you are going to musically enlighten them, get your grandmother to get the drinks in – because Swedish House Mafia’s historic gig at Madison Square Garden is coming to your computer screen via Youtube.

So for my first post (pressure’s on, I know!), I’ve got a couple of tracks from what has become probably the biggest story in the EDM world for the last month or so. I’m sure many of you already know the story, but for those who don’t, in short: Tim Bergling (AKA Tim Berg AKA Avicii) and his management (AtNight) send out the instrumental mix of Fade Into Darkness (Penguins) to various artists. By the time that Leona Lewis laid down a version and her people at SyCo (Simon Cowell’s record label) sent it over to Avicii, he had already decided on the version we now know as Fade Into Darkness, featuring vocals from Autumn Rowe. He declined Leona use of the song, but word has it her label was pushing her aways from the heart-broken ballads of previous albums into a more dance-inspired genre, and did NOT want to let this … Read more
