As a newly established resident to San Diego, I have been searching for a proper scene to quench my thirst for fresh music. After weeks of searching the nooks and crannies of Southern California, I finally found the kind folks over at LED (or mLED for the Heads who know).
If you’re unfamiliar with their work, they are the masterminds behind most of the shows at the local Mission Beach venue, and this weekend’s Labor Day rager, at the San Diego Sports Arena (not to be confused with the Bruce Springsteen tribute band).
Fortunately, I was privileged with a ticket to the infamous Tramps to have my first taste of the SD sound. With the strength of a thousand suns, I plowed my way down south to the Arena ready for whatever they had to throw at me.

Datsik has recently released the second edition of his short film series called ‘The Datsik Diaries”. In this edition entitled “EDC Las Vegas 2012″ we follow Datsik along during EDC Las Vegas. He travels all over Las Vegas and EDC to celebrate his 24th birthday in style. This installment features some cameos from other well known players in the EDM industry. Such as (in no particular order) 12th Planet, Steve Aoki, Nervo, Dieselboy, Kill the Noise, Noisa and many more. The candy ravers stayed at home this past Saturday at Laidback’s Super You & Me. Batman, Superman, the Green Hulk and even Quail Man came out to play. It was a nice break from last week’s candy raving crowd and gave the whole show a different vibe.
From the start of the day to the end of the day the event ran smoothly. It seems our voice was heard; the line was significantly shorter, a larger vessel was employed to transport those ready to rave to the island. Additionally, many more porta potties were there to accommodate the guests.
Laidback did not come alone, he recruited his good friends, and ultimately the Super Crew of DJs: Oliver Twizt, Peace Treaty, Tommy Trash, and Datsik.

Due to production challenges surrounding the Lot at AT&T Park, the I LOVE THIS CITY electronic festival happening Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26 will now take place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA.
By moving to Shoreline Amphitheatre, I LOVE THIS CITY is able to extend the event to 11:30 pm each night. Patrons 16 and over are now welcome.
Afrojack and Sebastian Ingrosso will now join Tiësto, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, and more than 40 of the best artists in EDM confirmed for this Northern California event on three stages throughout Shoreline Amphitheatre. The production will include a full massive experience including multiple art installations, over 4,000 sq. ft of LED screens, and over 80 of Vau De Vire Society’s most talented acrobats, aerialists, contortionists and burlesque performers.

With its killer bassline hardcore dubstep fans have been called bassheads. I am one of them. You can say that Diplo has definitely mastered a different sound than most of his contenders in the EDM world. He has collaborated with Tiesto to create the electro-house banger “Cmon”, remixes for many US artists such as Lil Wayne & Kelly Rowland, and whipped out his latest CRAZY sounding single “On!”.
