The reason why I am separating this set from the others in a different post is because this set was one of the best sets I have heard in my life. He completely blew everyone else that played at EDC from Friday and Saturday (let’s see about Sunday) out of the water. He played banger after banger, no filler songs, no transition songs, no bullshit. From starting out with Greyhound, bringing Alesso onto the stage for Calling, and pretty much dropping every sick beat in the world, Ingrosso should be and is the #1 house (not trance but house) DJ in the world and solidified this position with his performance on Saturday.

What happens when you throw together the best parts of an old-school Tiësto trance track with a progressive beauty from Alesso, then add the grinding drums and synths of Skrillex and Knife Party and haunting vocals that could easily be from a voice as touching as Ellie Goulding‘s?
Well, you get Language by Porter Robinson. He claims it is his “favourite song that I have written”. I agree. I also think it’s his best. The crowning moment in this young man’s ascent to the top of the American EDM market, Language majestically confirms everything we already suspected about 19 year old Chapel Hill, North Carolina native. Beautifully composed, Language meshes different styles and genres with ease: this could have been a brilliant dubstep, trance, or electro track on its own, had he wanted … Read more

We’ve brought you ALL the sets, ALL the events, and ALL the action. Now, in the first of a few similar posts in which we’ll take an in depth look at some of the music played, I’ve meticulously trawled the interwebz for the most talked about, blogged about, tweeted about and generally most highly anticipated songs to come out of MMW/WMC/UMF. These tracks are hot. I mean really hot. They are sure fire bets for anthems that will form the soundtrack of a typical EDM lover’s Summer. I’m not saying they’re all here, but this is my hand picked list, and these seem to have the biggest buzz of any unreleased tracks from the week. Enjoy, and … Read more

Pretty much everyone who had access to BBC Radio 1on Friday night was tuned in to the legendaryPete Tong‘s dance show, that was subject to an invasion of Swedes, namely the takeover by the superstars of the Swedish House Mafia.
