Good afternoon everybody, only a couple of more hours till Friday rolls around. So for this weeks Throwback Thursday, I’ve decided on one of my all time favorite progressive house remixes by the Canadian Duo Sultan & Ned Shepard. They give the remix treatment to beautiful track by Kaskade‘s band Late Night Alumni named You Can Be the One. The remix released in 2009 right alongside the Of Birds, Bees, and Butterflies Album. The remix gives the original tracks whole new life. Sultan & Ned add an infectious new bass line, and round of synths and voice samples that keep you completely entranced. Then when the Becky Jean William’s vocals roll in, the track reaches another level of perfection. If there is … Read more
I sit down at my desk in my neat little studio, cracking my knuckles and sending out a silent wake-up call to the sleeping Miss Maestro inside. Today is the day; I can feel it. It’s been too long since the last one, and I am ready. All the tracks are flowing smoothly, I’ve written a list of social media platforms I will use, and I just have to find those last few rhymes for my golden section mash-up. Everything is exactly where it needs to be, but something feels a little bit different this time.
Apparently SOME of my DJ friends didn’t LIKE my latest masterpiece. I know, ridiculous, right? She makes a small, indignant noise … Read more

One thing progressive house fans can be sure to look forward to every year before Winter Music Conference is the Cr2 Records compilation — a showcase of popular tracks you can expect to hear throughout EDM’s most prominent week, as well as a selection of lesser known tracks that will help the listener discover something new.
Disc 1 – MYNC
Let’s begin with the tracks you know: Alesso’s high-energy instrumental ‘Clash’, as well as Tommy Trash & Sebastian Ingrosso’s proven anthem, ‘Reload’. Among the others you may be familiar with are Jewelz & Scott Sparks’ ‘NYMSN’ (this time a ‘Miami Edit’), Kryder’s unreleased ‘Viper’, Denzal Park’s ‘Scorpio’ and Syn Cole’s ‘April’. One tune you may be unacquainted with is Ivan Gough’s remix of ‘Turn Off The Lights’ by Vincenzo Callea & William Naraine. The beautiful piano is accompanied by catchy vocals and a sunset-worthy synth line throughout the breakdown. Another … Read more

Dubstep producer – Rowland Evans took a step back from the choppy drums and hard bass style to create a progressive house track called “Reconciliation” released on Retaliation Records. Rowland plays frequently at the House of Blues in Orlando. At only 14 years of age he has been contacted by the likes of the Orlando Magic NBA Basketball Team, Red Bull, and international teen event promoting company “FX”
Shine (Fareoh’s One Hitter Remix) – Late Night Alumni
Definitely my favorite up and coming artist. He toured this past year with Kaskade and from what I’ve been told it was like there was two main acts. A young DJ/Producer from NYC Fareoh has been killing it for some time now. From Buy My Love to his edit of Call Me Maybe he can really do no wrong. He just has found that infectious synth throughout all his songs that makes you have to bob your head or tap your foot. Expect big things from this guy in 2013, the sky is really the limit. Check out some more Fareoh here.
I’m fairly positive that everyone in the world now knows who Afrojack is. Further more I think everyone who listens to his music salivates every time he has a new track come out. More of a progressive banger (It is definitely a banger) than the typical dirty dutch associated with the man it is another in a long line of his hits. Keane has been supplying the electro world with some great originals to be remade as well, Alesso did so earlier in the year .
Hopefully you enjoy, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
