Something, Something, Awesome (EP) (register & login to view link)
One of the leading pioneers of the breakthrough genre Moombhaton has released his first EP, Something, Something, Awesome on Skrillex‘s already prolific label, OWSLA. Filled with bass heavy productions and crisp riffs, this is the perfect offering for all you dub-heads and banging-beat lovers. Including a collaboration with Kill The Noise, who also featured on Skrillex’s Bangarang EP, this is a strong offering, and something that anyone who loves the genre should go ahead and download.
Enjoy,

Breakin’ A Sweat (Zedd Remix) – Skrillex (register & login to view link)
So, about a week or so ago I gave you guys the premiere of the absolutely huge Zedd remix of Bangarang’s stand out track, Breakn’ A Sweat. The original is already a banger that dubstep fans are loving, and this Zedd remix just takes that to a whole new level, with 3 drops throughout the song, crazy riffs and massive bass lines. I know we’ve all been waiting for the full song to drop, so we don’t have to keep listening to the Zane Lowe rip I posted, so, without further ado, I present to you, Breakn’ A Sweat, the Zedd Remix.
Enjoy!

Syndicate (Skrillex Remix) (register & login to view link)
Syndicate (Flux Pavilion Remix) (register & login to view link)
Syndicate (Digitalism Remix) (register & login to view link)
To honour the release of classic video game Syndicate, EA Games has commissioned the remix of the original’s 8-bit theme tune (similar to what the guys behind Mortal Kombat did last year), by 3 of the biggest names in dubstep and electro. The Skrillex remix has been floating around for a while in 128kbps, but I’ve got the 320′s here for you to enjoy. The Skrillex and Flux tracks are dirty, slower moombahton tracks, whilst the Digitalism remix is an electro house banger, like much of his previous work!
Enjoy!

Porter Robinson is a 19 year old music prodigy who has used his seemingly infinite talent to create energetic, bassy, and crazy electro-house bangers for the past year, catapulting him to a place where he was opening on a regular basis for Tiësto on his American college tour. He has had several releases on Skrillex’s label OWSLA, and at such a young age, looks to be set for big things. This Essential Mix live from Hull in the UK is definitely one of my favourites that the legend Pete Tong has aired: it’s got all of Robinson’s hits on, and some massive bootlegs and new remixes. Check it out!

w/ ID – ID

Wonderland – Steve Aoki (register & login to view link)
Steve Aoki has long been associated with all aspects of the EDM scene. Club promotions, remixes, label head, producer, A&R… I could go on. His Dim Mak Records has released some of the biggest electro-house tracks over the last few years, and 2012 looks to be the year he becomes a household name.
The first thing to note is that this is an incredibly diverse album, ranging from trance and electro to dubstep and punk, and many fans may find this frustrating. For example, “Earthquakey People” is Über-poppy, with the chorus, courtesy of Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, commanding us to “jump around, nothing they can do or say to bring us down”, or “Ladi Dadi“, featuring Wynter Gordon, which sounds a bit like a Dirty Talk dubstep remix, are both perfect radio-ready records. Then, at the other end of … Read more

Recently released Tommy Trash song has electro house written all over it. With the funky drop and above average bass it is a track that will surely get you through the week. The track titled Sex, Drugs, Rock N Roll released under Laidback Luke’s record label Mixmash Records is no downer. This track would be great to play between any bangers when at the club or any party and of course a good track to listen to at home.

So, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! In light of the approaching New Year, I have put a lot of time and effort in to compiling a list for all you to enjoy: The Top 10 EDM Artists to Watch in 2012. In my opinion, these artists will have the biggest chance of blowing up in 2012, for a variety of reasons. For example, they may possess sheer talent, an underground buzz and following, or the backing of major DJs that is sure to propel them into the spotlight this coming year. Much like Alesso was tipped by Avicii to burst on to the scene this year, hot on the heels of his Dynamite/Nillionaire EP at the end of last year, and then how he confirmed that tip in May with his massive remix of Pressure, I anticipate that many, if not all of these artists will do big … Read more

Bangarang EP – Skrillex (register & login to view link)
Part of what left me so bitterly disappointed with Skrillex’s remix of Levels (register & login to view link) was that, arguably being of the few artists to have a bigger year than Avicii, and with bags and bags of talent, he was the perfect choice to remix probably the most popular song of the year, and failed to deliver. Bangarang simply confirms what I predicted in my extensive review of Creamfields 2011, regarding the fact that if Skrillex continued to blend electro-house, dubstep, drum and bass, and everything in-between, he would be simply unstoppable. He has done so on this Bangarang EP to damaging effect, with an eclectic blend of beautiful vocals and catchy hooks mashed with screeching bass-lines and beats so energetic you just want to mosh in you sitting room. The title track was a song that stuck … Read more
