This past Saturday (Feb 4th) brought DJ/Producer Alex Kenji to Santos Party House joined by John Hamilton. Opening the night, John Hamilton, who recently released his latest mix Panther (register & login to view link), warmed up the packed crowd with big beats. The NYC based DJ was going so hard that unbeknownst to partygoers, he cut his finger on the mixer and continued playing seamlessly, despite bleeding. Who said deejaying wasn’t physical?!
After Band-Aid’s were distributed, Italy’s own Alex Kenji made his way to the DJ booth. Alex expressed few words before starting his set, but asserted, “I’m 100% Italian!” The talented Kenji busted out a large travel case full of CD’s rather than using Serato or USB keys. The set was powerful and kept the crowd in tact before passing it back off to John Hamilton to close.
As producing DJ’s often do, Alex Kenji dropped some tracks of his own. It was refreshing to hear the original version of “Pressure” rather than the commonly played ‘Alesso remix’ version.
Kenji was in the zone while spinning. When a female interrupted him he exclaimed, “I have to work!” – and work he did!
