Fire – Adrian Lux & Lune

I have followed with great interest both Adrian Lux and Lune‘s careers since the very beginning, and have been amazed by the quick progress they’ve made. Lune, for those of you that may not know, is the unique, beautifully haunting voice that became world famous for singing those now-eternal words, “We don’t sleep when the sun goes down, we don’t waste no precious time, all my friends in the loop, making up for teenage crime”. Of course most of you will instantly recognise these words from Adrian Lux’s break-through hit, Teenage Crime, that was remixed (or remoded) to massively damaging effect by Axwell and Henrik B. Both the remix and the original mix are still considered classics, and have cemented these two artists places in their respective fields. Lune has gone on to release the brilliant Private Admission, which Swedish House Mafia have used in several trailers, and Adrian Lux has put out several remixes and original tracks, such as Eagles with Sander Van Doorn, and Alive, featuring The Good Natured, to name but a few of his productions.
His new offering, Fire, is just as the title suggests. With soaring synths and uplifting vocals courtesy of Lune, this offering is as strong as any. Intelligent chord progressions give it the air of a film score or commissioned TV advert, and lack of hard-hitting electro drop makes it a nice change from much of the current EDM scene, focused on heavy beats. This is a perfectly light, musically interesting release, offering the listener a chance to escape for 5 minutes, transported by Lune’s beautiful voice, and Lux’s emotive, epic chords. A brilliant release here, although, as I’m sure many of you will agree, still not as strong as the record that he broke onto the scene with. Or is it?
