DJ Jesse Marco Lights up Electric Beach
Last Saturday marked yet another evening of good beats at Santos Party House for their weekly Electric Beach party. The party featured two local DJ’s: Jesse Marco and DJ Pheel Good (register & login to view link). Jesse Marco has become one of New York’s top DJ’s and currently pledges allegiance with two exclusive artist management companies, 4AM and dGi Management. Before Jesse stepped up to the turntables, partygoers got the chance to hear the sounds of newcomer DJ Pheel Good. Setting the tone for the evening, DJ Pheel Good (register & login to view link)captured attention with a high energy set that segwayed nicely to Jesse Marco.
Jesse started deejaying at the age of 16, learning on vinyl, worked at Scratch DJ Academy, and was mentored by the likes of Mark Ronson and DJ AM. It comes as no surprise that Jesse threw down his House/Electro set on a pair of Technics.
Having heard Jesse spin sets at 4AM’s Winter Music Conference party to his sets here in New York, I’ve personally heard him play an array of genres, and certainly hip-hop. One unique element to the set he delivered at Santos Party House was that he occasionally scratched – tastefully and effectively. Another element was to deliver high energy through a mix of distinctive beats and unloading a dizzying amount of tracks from his arsenal in a ‘quick hitter’ style.
From spending time in the booth with Jesse and peering at his Serato, you could see many of the remixes and edits he dropped were personally mastered by himself. Stay tuned to FromDJs4DJs for more from Jesse Marco including some of those personal edits.
